Do you want to help create innovative solutions that allow people and their dogs to travel safely and comfortably together? As part of our Dog Transportation category, you'll contribute to solutions that combine thoughtful design, engineering excellence, and industry-leading safety. With an exciting product portfolio and roadmap ahead, you'll help shape dog transportation solutions that make adventures with dogs safer, easier, and more enjoyable.   What you'll do at Thule As a Mechanical Design Engineer - Dog Transportation in Car, you'll be part of our committed engineering team developing innovative dog transportation solutions for vehicles, including dog crates and related products. Together, we take ideas from concept to finished product through a structured and collaborative development process. In this role, you will design and develop components in CAD, create high-quality technical specifications, and collaborate closely with project managers, simulation and test engineers, and prototype specialists to solve technical challenges and ensure every detail meets the high standards and requirements of the automotive industry. You will take an active role in ordering and evaluating prototypes, analyzing test results, and using simulations to verify the strength and performance of your designs. In addition, you will document technical solutions, manage design-related risks, and contribute to engineering best practices. Leading and supporting design reviews will be an important part of your role, helping ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability.   What you bring To succeed in this role, we believe you have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, combined with some years of experience in mechanical design and product development. You have worked with a variety of materials and understand how to optimize designs for functionality, durability, and safety. Experience from consumer products, automotive products, or other safety-critical applications is highly valuable. You are fluent in both Swedish and English. As the role includes practical elements, we believe you thrive in a hands-on product development environment. As a person, you are self-driven, structured, and solution-oriented, with the ability to turn ideas into robust and well-engineered products. You enjoy collaborating across disciplines and can effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.   Why you should join Thule At Thule, we are Proud to Be Thule. We believe anything is possible when we stay curious, take initiative and challenge ourselves. We encourage everyone to take ownership and make the most of their part of the business. We believe we win as a team by collaborating across functions, sharing knowledge and supporting one another. United by our passion for our products, the outdoors and the Thule brand, we take pride in what we do and create a culture where everyone contributes, grows and has fun.   Hiring Process Apply by submitting your application and resumé through “Apply for position” on our Thule Career Site.
